Health Fairs & Outreach

The Health Fair & Outreach Committees aim to serve disadvantaged Asian-American communities in Southeast Michigan. UAAMSA hosts the largest free Health Fair at Michigan Medical School, in addition to many smaller health screenings throughout the year.

Responsibilities

The Health Fair Committees hosts the largest health fair of year! Tasks include:

● Recruiting and coordinating physician/med student/undergraduate volunteers

● Organizing lunch talk and workshop speakers for the event

● Translating materials and publicizing the health fair

● Setting up registration for health fair attendees

Health Fair & Outreach News

UAAMSA members participated in the Korean and Vietnamese Health Fairs, on October 4th and October 17th respectively, offering health screenings to underserved populations in southeastern Michigan. They were joined by their counterparts from the pharmacy and nursing schools at the University of Michigan.
